Kids at four months: spitting, groaning, and holding hands
Continuing my videoblogging of the twins’ journey through babyhood, I’ve uploaded a video of the kids at four months of age. They are beginning to interact at this time. Many thanks to Shiho for filming these clips.
Watch Mickey make spit bubbles, Milo groan as he copes with lying on his stomach and lifting his head up, and the twain of them holding hands.
I will eventually make the video available on my own site, but I’ve encountered some problems with hosting video myself. First, getting videos to stream can be buggy. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I can’t quite figure out what is going wrong—at least not yet. Second, hosting video requires individual users to have the right software on their computer. Some people don’t have the software, don’t know how to download and install it, or don’t want to install it.
Thus, for now I will make the video available on YouTube. YouTube comes with its own player, which requires no installation. Check the video out here.
As much as I like YouTube, I will keep a copy of all my videos on my own server. Hey, you can never be too sure about how safe your data is. If YouTube went bankrupt tomorrow, what would happen to all that content?
I can’t even be sure my own server is safe. A huge fire over at Yahoo! might destroy all my data. Nevertheless, I feel that online storage is the wave of the future. I don’t like using CDs to back things up. CDs are frail whereas digital files can last forever. Still, maybe I should be backing up my server on CDs. Yet another project…
